SEE BELOW FOR FULL CONTEST DETAILS. PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST (THE “CONTEST”) CONSTITUTES YOUR FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE OF, AND AGREEMENT TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY, THESE CONTEST RULES (THE “CONTEST RULES”).
The Contest begins on October 10, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on October 18, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”), after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries will be accepted. By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Contest Rules. Entrants further agree to abide by and be bound by all decisions of Coinsquare Capital Markets Ltd., together with its respective affiliates (the “Sponsor” or “Bitbuy”), which shall be final and binding, without right of appeal, in all matters relating to this Contest and the awarding of the prizes, including without limitation eligibility and/or disqualification of entries.
The Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada, excluding Québec, who are age of majority in the province/territory of residence at the time of entry, with the exception of employees of the Sponsor, its parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, departments or agencies, franchisees, suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies, contest administrators, and any other parties engaged in the development, production or distribution of Contest materials, and those living in the same household. Entrants who do not comply with any of the Contest Rules are subject to disqualification by the Sponsor, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. There are two (2) methods to enter the Contest during the Contest Period (each an “Entry” or “Entries”). Completion of an Entry will result in an entrant receiving one (1) entry into the Contest. Each entrant can submit an unlimited number of entries. Receipt of an entry occurs when the Entry is completed, and the Sponsor's server records the Entry information. All Entries must be complete and are subject to verification by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion.

For greater certainty and avoidance of any doubt, entries are only collected and valid if they occurred within the Contest Period. Any attempt or suspected attempt to use robotic, automatic, programmed or otherwise illicit means to enter the Contest, or any other methods not authorized by these Contest Rules, for example, but not limited to, creating multiple identities or registrations, all in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify you from entering, participating and/or winning a prize. Entries that contain false or incomplete information are void. Entries that are late, lost, contain false information, are misdirected, incomplete, altered or otherwise irregular or that do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions of the Contest Rules are void. Proof of transmission (for example, screenshots or captures) does not constitute proof of entry or receipt of an entry.
Two (2) Contest prize winners will be announced on October 22, 2024 (the “Award Date”). One (1) prize per winner consisting of the following: $500 CAD funded to the winner’s Account and an exclusive prize pack with Bitbuy merch (“Prize”).
All winners assume any and all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by entering, participating in this Contest or the use or redemption of a Prize. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable. No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize or a prize component with one of equal or greater value, including without limitation, but solely in the Sponsor’s discretion, a cash award. The Prize will only be awarded to the person who is the owner of the Account. Prizes or any portion of a prize cannot be combined with other discounts, promotions or special offers. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute an alternate prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize is unavailable at the time of award.
Odds of being selected depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
Content entries will be judged and reviewed based on the two (2) judging mechanisms outlined below between October 19, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. EST and October 21, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST (the “Review Period”). One winner will be chosen through Community Voting and a second winner will be chosen through Bitbuy Review (as outlined below).
Judging Mechanism 1 – Community Voting (“Community Voting”)
All eligible social media content submissions featuring the hashtag #BitbuyBUIDL will be automatically uploaded to a publicly accessible external landing page during the Review Period for community evaluation. During the Review Period, each individual is permitted to cast one (1) vote for their preferred content piece. The content entry receiving the highest number of votes at the conclusion of the Review Period will be deemed the potential winner (the “Community Voting Selected Entrant”).
A Community Voting Selected Entrant will be confirmed as the winner upon meeting all eligibility criteria outlined in these Contest Rules. The Sponsor reserves the right to request proof of eligibility at any time. Should a Community Voting Selected Entrant incorrectly answer the Sponsor’s skill testing question or fail to satisfy any eligibility requirements, they will be disqualified and will not receive any Prize. In such cases, the content entry receiving the next highest number of votes at the conclusion of the voting period will be deemed the new winner / Community Voting Selected Entrant.
The Community Voting Selected Entrant will be notified on the Award Date. Notifications will be sent via the email address associated to the Community Voting Selected Entrant’s Bitbuy Account or the social media account used at the time of entry into the Contest. The Sponsor will attempt to contact the Community Voting Selected Entrant up to three (3) times within two (2) business days from the Award Date. Failure to accept the Prize may result in the forfeiture of the Prize, at which point the Sponsor may select the entrant with the content entry receiving the next highest number of votes at the conclusion of the voting period.
A signed copy of the Sponsor’s Declaration and Release (if requested) must be received by the Sponsor as a precondition to receiving the Prize and no later than two (2) business days from the Award Date. The Sponsor is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a Community Voting Selected Entrant to receive notification or for the Sponsor to receive a Community Voting Selected Entrant’s response.
If the identity of a Community Voting Selected Entrant is disputed, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the individual assigned to the email address entered at the time of entry (the “Authorized Account Holder”). Each Community Voting Selected Entrant may be required to provide proof that he or she is the Authorized Account Holder associated with a selected entry.
Judging mechanism 2 – Bitbuy Review (“Bitbuy Review”)
All eligible content submissions, with the exception of the content submission of the Community Voting Selected Entrant, will be ranked by a Bitbuy team based on quality and adherence to the contest rules. The content with the highest ranked average will be deemed the winner (the “Bitbuy Review Selected Entrant”).
A Bitbuy Review Selected Entrant will be confirmed as the winner upon meeting all eligibility criteria outlined in the Contest Rules. The Sponsor reserves the right to request proof of eligibility at any time. Should a Bitbuy Review Selected Entrant incorrectly answer the Sponsor’s skill testing question or fail to satisfy any eligibility requirements, they will be disqualified and will not receive any Prize. In such cases, the content entry receiving the next highest ranked average will be deemed the new Bitbuy Review Selected Entrant.
The Bitbuy Review Selected Entrant will be notified on the Award Date. Notifications will be sent via the email address provided at the time of entry into the Contest. The Sponsor will attempt to contact the Bitbuy Review Selected Entrant up to three (3) times within two (2) business days from the Award Date. Failure to accept the Prize may result in the forfeiture of the Prize, at which point the Sponsor may select a new entrant with the content entry receiving the next highest ranked average.

In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant’s online presence must pass a content audit conducted by the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify selected entrants who display an online presence that does not align with the Sponsor’s content policy, which includes without limitation, all content that: uses profanity, displays hateful or discriminatory language, promotes illegal, dangerous or violent harmful practices or behavior or is harmful or offensive in nature.
All selected winners that pass the content audit will be contacted via the social media platform or email with which they have entered and won and notified via the email or social media platform with which they have entered and won and notified. WINNER NOTIFICATIONS WILL ONLY BE SENT FROM THE OFFICIAL BITBUY EMAIL OR SOCIAL PLATFORM ACCOUNTS. The selected entrant must: (i) respond to notification of selection within two (2) business days of first attempt by Sponsor; (ii) correctly answer, unassisted, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question by email.
By accepting the Prize within two (2) weeks of it being sent by Sponsor, you confirm your compliance with the Contest Rules, and agree to release the Sponsor from any liability in connection with this Contest or the use, misuse, awarding or possession of any prize; and, agree to otherwise comply with these Contest Rules.
Return of the Prize, or any part thereof, or winner notification as undeliverable, inability to reach selected entrant or failure of selected entrant to respond to notification within two (2) business days of first attempt by Sponsor or Sponsor’s agent, failure to provide proof of eligibility (if requested), release documents, or other required documentation in a timely manner, failure to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or other non-compliance with these Contest Rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of the Prize, or part thereof, and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, selection of an alternate eligible entrant for the forfeited Prize, or part thereof, in accordance with these Contest Rules, who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner.
By participating in this Contest, entrants: (i) confirm compliance with all Contest Rules; (ii) agree to accept prizes as awarded; (iii) release, discharge and hold harmless the Sponsor, its departments and agencies, parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, franchisees, advertising and promotional agencies, counsel, marketing partners, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, shareholders, successors, sponsors, partners, licensees, subsidiaries, agents, artists, advisors, assignees, and all others associated with the administration, development and execution of the Contest (the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all manner of action, cause of action, claim or demand, loss or injury, use or misuse of a prize or any travel related thereto, and the use of entries by the Sponsor, suit, debt, covenant, contract, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach, failure of any third-party contractor or supplier used in connection with any aspect of the Contest to perform or deliver any goods or services, any act of God or any other event beyond the Released Parties’ control, any dissatisfaction of any kind by a winner with any aspect of the Contest or any prize, liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants, guests, their heirs, successors or assigns have, might have or could have suffered, by reason of or arising out of the entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by the entrant of prizes as awarded; and (iv) indemnify the Released Parties against any loss, damage or expense, including legal fees, that any of the Released Parties may suffer or incur as a result of any non-compliance by entrants with any of the Contest Rules or participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by an entrant of a prize, and the use of entries by the Sponsor.
Without limiting the foregoing, the Sponsor, any of Sponsor’s suppliers or contractors shall not be responsible for: (i) incorrect or inaccurate entry information that may affect a person’s ability to participate in the Contest or be awarded a prize, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed entries for any reason, mail failures, omission, or any combination thereof, and entries that fail to fully comply with these Contest Rules; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (iii) lost, incomplete, delayed or misdirected entries or Declaration and Releases; (iv) injury or damage to entrants’ computers or to any other individual’s computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the Contest or accepting a prize; (v) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, including any related travel and the use of entries by Sponsor; (vi) the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third-party computer hackers or otherwise; or (vii) late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a potential winner.
Instagram and its owner Meta Platforms, Inc. shall be considered Released Parties. X and its owner X Corp. shall be considered Released Parties. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or X. Every entrant and participant in the Contest shall release, discharge and hold harmless Meta Platforms, Inc. and X Corp. from all liability related to the Contest. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest should be directed to the Sponsor and not Meta Platforms, Inc. or X Corp.
By participating in the Contest, entrants consent to the use of their name, email address, province of residency, social media handle and any photograph of or that may be taken for the administration of the Contest, or any publicity carried out by the Sponsor, without further notice or compensation.
Bitbuy collects personal information from entrants for the purpose of administering this Contest. Bitbuy will not send informational or marketing communications to entrants unless consent is obtained from them.
